Technology Transfer

Transfer of technology to industry is a key mission of LEC, being supported at different levels.  The primary form of technology transfer is of course through our graduates entering their chosen industry.  In addition, the transfer of technology to improve products and services for both large corporations, as well as small start-up companies is also highly encouraged.  With many collaborative agreements with companies in Europe, US and Asia, technology developed at LEC is transformed into design system improvements and products in many major global firms.  We selectively patent new innovations and would work with industry to utilize this know-how.

For new enterprises and start-ups, we would support their formation when the technology has been developed at LEC.  In addition, the course “New Enterprises for Engineers” is specifically designed to support and help all engineers and scientists at ETH Zurich to better understand the innovative as well as practical aspects of starting a new company.
