Pneumatic Probes

Pneumatic probes are powerful tools for the
experimental investigations of steady flow fields. They consist of a
bundle of four to five very thin pressure tubes. We develop and use
pneumatic probes of different style.
 They mainly vary in terms of outer
shape, outer diameter and probe hole number respectively. Fig. 1 shows
three different five hole probes. On the right, an L-shaped five hole
probe is shown. The two cobra shaped five hole probes (Fig. 1 left and
center) differ from each other in terms of probe outer diameter. The
minimal outer diameter of our probes is as small as 0.9 mm. The head of the probe is slanted pyramid shaped which can be seen in Fig. 1 at the bottom left. |
